Is there a word for the opposite of backstory? Like, for example, Harry Potter pastfics, which generally rely upon the context of the future (1990s-2000s) Harry Potter 'verse, don't rely on backstory necessarily, they rely on... future story? Forestory?
Similarly, I have an originalfic plotbunny that's sort of meant to be the memoirs of an evil overlord, as told while he is watching his carefully-built empire crumble under the onslaught of some stupid little bastards with prophecies, magic weapons, and no understanding of the delicate political situation they're crashing into*. Readers familiar with high fantasy conventions will know what's happening in his present if I drop a few hints here and there, but it's not a necessary understanding of past events to understand present-day ones, it's understanding present/future events to provide more weight to past ones. ...does that make sense? And if so, is there a good word for that or do we have to make one?
